Becoming an artist
wasn't a choice.
From an early age
Like most artists I know or have read about, I was always interested in art. What began as doodles and sketches eventually turned into full sized drawings and paintings. Encouraged by art teachers, I embarked on my quest to become a full time artist. Pursuing a mixture of fine and commercial art in Atlanta was a balanced approach that led to a 12 year career as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. All the while, painting with mostly watercolor was my passion. A brief stint as a street artist in New Orleans was an invaluable wake up call to get back to my calling, which was painting full time.
SEE BIOOnce I became enthralled with the textural qualities of oil and acrylic painting, I never looked back. I began traveling extensively and my love of the landscape took hold and has since become the main focus in my paintings. More recently, I find myself evolving more towards abstraction within my landscapes and as stand alone abstract pieces. After over twenty years of working as an artist, I feel fortunate to be able to do what I love as my profession, thanks to all of the wonderful people who respond to and enjoy my work.
